1. At home I am not online that often. I check my email and facebook at least once a day, but that doesn't take long. At school I am online a lot because 3 out of my 4 classes on A day is basically on the computer. Whether I am at home or at school, when I'm online I am either checking my gmail or facebook, or I am looking at stuff I'm interested in, like jobs, cars, recreational activities.
2. From what I've experienced in my life, I believe that city is like any other city in America. I can't remember the last time I've been without the internet at home. It's basically a necessity. Anywhere you go, there will be internet. I believe it is like our community in that sense.
3. You would most likely use digital media in school for a computer class or a photography class. In middle school we would have to come up with world events and I would often get my world event from an internet news source which is digital media. The most common use would probably be T.V. Teachers like to show videos. The least common use would be cell phones because we aren't supposed to have them on in school.
4. They are similar in that you can create and change them to you're liking. They are different because an online community can view your myspace or facebook. People can't just come to your room or read your diary without your consent. With myspace or facebook the whole point is keeping in touch with other people so privacy really is contradicting that goal.
5. The girls that were in the video were embarrassed about the fight. I'm sure the parents were embarrassed also. I would imagine that the school administrators and teachers would be embarrassed as well.
6. A positive consequence is there are a lot of people with a boosted self esteem because of social networking. A negative consequence is sometime people take it too far and let social networking take over their life.
7. If you do this to people online or in real life you probably won't have many friends. Teasing people is kind of mean.
8. It wouldn't bother me to "disconnect" but I don't see the point. Technology hasn't taken over my life. It only helps me and isn't that what it was created for? I would enjoy not getting calls from my mom whenever I get into trouble. I wouldn't enjoy not getting calls or texts from my girlfriend.
